The #CalderaTaronja decides the ticket for the Liga Endesa semifinals
Valencia Basket will have the support of a Fonteta who will be a true #CalderaTaronja to face the third and final Liga Endesa Quarterfinals game vs. Bitci Baskonia (Monday 30, 9:00 p.m., Fonteta, #Vamos) in a game that represents the third consecutive campaign in which the taronja team faces a match-ball at home in the playoffs against this rival and that poses a reissue of the situation of the last season’s quarterfinals.
Once again the series is 1-1, although in this case both teams have won their away game, a constant that has been repeated in the four clashes between these two teams in the current season.
That 78-73 win in the 2020-21 season Quarterfinals game 3 was the fifth time that Valencia Basket took advantage of the option of sneaking into the semifinals by playing the decisive game at La Fonteta, while on three other occasions it was eliminated despite playing at home.
Imposing their style and not letting the Bitci Baskonia defense stop the taronja team's offensive fluency have been key aspects so far, as evidenced by the fact that Valencia Basket has distributed more than double the number of assists in the quarters that they have beaten this rival this season.
To continue contributing in this regard, the physical condition of Icelandic point guard Martin Hermannsson will be important, as he was already able to contribute to Sunday's victory with just under 23 minutes on the court despite the Achilles tendinopathy in his right leg that he is dragging. The only confirmed sidelined player will be the Slovenian shooting guard Klemen Prepelic.
To find the ticket for what would be the fourth acb semifinals in a row for the taronja team, Valencia Basket encourages all season ticket holders who are not going to be able to attend the game to give up or free up their seats so that there are no free seats on Monday night.
